Situated just two streets from the historic Calle Ocho, a renowned Cuban street in the heart of Miami, Leslie and Terry aimed to design a distinctive residence Little Havana that reflects the area's rich history and vibrant culture. This duplex is notable for its monolithic structure, diverging from the typical design with contrasting aesthetics. The front unit features an open layout that invites visitors into the living area and pool deck, while the rear unit offers privacy, sheltered by an existing ficus tree and the rear garden. The design vision encompasses “Monolithic, Interlocking, and Blended”: a striking monument within the colorful streets, a flexible flow between all elements of the structure, and a harmonious integration with its natural surroundings.
