The existing house, a typical Mediterranean style common in this neighborhood, was transformed into a unique, minimalistic structure. The addition of a guest house and a gym for her son and daughter-in-law was the catalyst for this transformation. The collaboration of SOOP and other consultants was instrumental in this process, ensuring the structural integrity of the 100-year-old home. The entrance was strategically moved to the center of the living area, creating a natural flow towards the pool. SOOP opened up the living and dining area with a high ceiling, enhancing the spaciousness and comfort of the home. The loggia connecting the main house to the gym, atelier, and guest house opens up to the pool, while still maintaining privacy within the lush landscape.
